Back in the Land of Kimchi

A quick brief...

Spent 4 weeks in Texas, and that was, thought provoking... Conclusion: we won't live there by choice. It was wonderful that all my rellies are there, but America won't be our home if we can help it. Don't get me wrong. It is an amazing place - truly a country where hardwork pays off. Where dreams of becoming "big" can come true. But I'd like my kids to form roots where there is more of a connection that just equal opportunity.

I would love to keep visiting that country. Explore their wilderness, shop their stores, taste their regional cuisine and indulge in the big cities every once in a while. But that will have to take a back seat to our other explorations. There is still the matter of my kids being half-Canadian, half-Filipino. There is still the opportunity to explore Asia even more, perhaps Central Asia this time. New Zealand and Tasmania beckons. Old Europe, Africa and one of my dreams, the Middle East...

Maybe I am meant to be a wanderer. A modern nomad. I know it is difficult for me to hold on to the idea of settling down in one place, forever. What a concept! I envy those who have roots to a place where they grew up - everything and everyone familiar. And yet the thought of living out the rest of my days in one place seem suffocating...

For now I am content to make whereever we are "home". The one true thing that makes me happy is when we are together, enjoying each other's company. Not the big house, not the fancy meal, not the toys... Just my boys and me.

Welcome to my house

Here we go - we found a new home on the web.

For those of you who know us, thank you for travelling with us through all the web groups, chat programs and picture hosting sites.

Hopefully, this will be our home for a long time (until something better comes along?).

Enjoy our pictures and our stories, and hope to see more of you online.

Warm hugs,
Scott, Lee, Jacob & Dylan
